Norilmi Amilia Ismail is a senior lecturer at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and President and co-founder of Malaysia Space Initiative, a non-profit organisation with a mission to help to advance the Malaysian space industry. She holds a master’s degree in Space Mission Analysis and Design and a PhD in Mechanical engineering from University of Glasgow, United Kingdom. She is also leading a research group in USM developing a Nano-Satellite and High Altitude Platform System. She founded SpaceIn, a spin-off company of USM focusing on small satellite system.

New trends in space business are spreading from European countries and the United States to Asia, with new ecosystems are being built in each country. We will discuss the latest headlines with the European Space Policy Institute, which published the research report "New Space in Asia" regarding the Asian space industry this year, and industry leaders in each country.
