A former U.S. Air Force fighter pilot, test pilot, and NASA astronaut with more than 30 years of flight test experience, Steve Lindsey is the Senior Vice President of Strategy for SNC’s Space Systems group. Steve oversees design, development, testing and operational employment of Dream Chaser®, a modern, reusable, lifting-body spacecraft designed for uncrewed and crewed transportation to low-Earth orbit. Additionally, he is responsible for development and program execution of Dream Chaser derived products and exploration systems. He also leads Business Development and Technology for the group. Steve has a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Sciences, a Master of Science in Aeronautical Engineering, and has logged over 7,000 hours of flying time in more than 50 different types of aircraft. After selection by NASA as an astronaut, Steve completed five space shuttle missions and logged more than two months in space. He also served as chief of the astronaut corps, overseeing spacecraft development, crew selection and training and flight test/crew operations in support of the space shuttle, International Space Station (ISS) and Constellation Programs. In 2015, Steve was inducted into the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame.
